This is the fifth album of the Encounters in the Space-Time series, conceived to release the highlights of this cycle of concerts organized by Gràcia Territori Sonor in Barcelona.

Pampa Niwe is a sound research project which merges ancestral and popular songs of South America with improvisation, jazz and electronics.

Niwe means "air" in the Shipibo language, Pampa Niwe could be translated as "Pampa's air." The name honors the encounter of Buenos Aires and Amazonian cultures, which strongly inspires this project.

The group’s work is based on studying and interpretating the songs of the Shipibo people that come from the Peruvian Amazon –healing songs by the Sánchez Muñoz family and other communities– as well as Venezuelan tunes and other popular melodies.
